Bingo in Oklahoma
by Rogelio on Dec.04, 2015, under Bingo
Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Native bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for decades. Clients from all of the surrounding states load up in vehicles and visit Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a precedent setting decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the betting rules, and today operate ten gambling dens of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. Electronic games like one armed bandits weren’t permitted, because they’re believed to contribute to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma rules have changed to allow for gigantic Amerindian betting gambling halls. You’ll now see Amerindian gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are not legal in the Amerindian gambling halls as of yet, but that is simply a matter of time. Nobody can determine what having other gambling den games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
