Bingo in Oklahoma

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for decades. Guests from all of the neighboring states pile in automobiles and travel into Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a landmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. From that time, 23 of the 39 Indian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today control ten casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. automated games like slots weren’t permitted, owing to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules have changed to allow for big Native gaming gambling dens. You’ll now find Indian gambling halls with one armed bandits, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not yet allowed in the American Indian gambling dens yet, but that is simply a waiting game. Nobody can determine whether having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
