Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for many years. Patrons from each of the neighboring states pile in autos and travel into Oklahoma to play Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that instance, 23 of the 39 Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the wagering laws, and at this time control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. computerized games like one armed bandits were not approved, on the grounds that they are thought to contribute to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules has changed to allow for gigantic Native betting gambling halls. You’ll now see Amerindian gambling dens with one armed bandits, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Native casinos as of yet, however this is only a matter of time. No one can determine whether having different gambling den games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
