Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is owing to the fact that the Native tribes of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for generations. Guests from all of the surrounding states pile in trucks and head over to Oklahoma to bet on Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) became law after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today operate ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were built on. Electronic games like slot machines were not allowed, since they’re believed to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts has altered to allow for enormous American Indian wagering gambling halls. You’ll now see Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are not legal in the Native casinos yet, but this is only a matter of time. No one can say with whether having other casino games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
