Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That is because the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for generations. Guests from each of the surrounding states get in vehicles and visit Oklahoma to bet on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a benchmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, twenty three of the 39 American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have opened gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today control ten casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these casinos were founded. computerized games like slot machines weren’t approved, on the grounds that they’re thought to contribute to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law has altered to permit large American Indian betting gambling dens. You will now see Amerindian gambling halls with one armed bandits, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are still not legal in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, however that is simply a waiting game. No one can say what having different games in the bingo houses will do for the popularity of bingo.
